New directive for information programs of Public Authority

With this directive Italian Public Authority is requested to consider the offer of the "Open Source" development mode, which according to the Minister Stanca contributes to widen the range of opportunities and solutions in a situation of balance and pluralism.

Public Authority should consider criteria as transferability of solutions taken from other authorities, interactivity and application-oriented cooperation,  the opportunity to export data and documents by different format, with regard to the choice of available information systems on the market.

They should also pay attention to not being dependent on a unique supplier or on a unique owner technology and to the availability of the source code for inspection and traceability. In the agreements stipulated, Public Authority  will provide the acquisition of the ownership of programs developed by supplying companies and their possible "reuse" on other platforms too.
