Expo e-learning 2005: new scenarios for training via web
Expo E-learning 2005, showroom of online training, comes to its second edition. This event, promoted by CARID, University of Ferrara, Omniacom Consortium and Ferrara Fiere, will take place at "Ferrara Fiere e Congressi" from 6 to 8 October, completely free for all visitors.
The conference will be an occasion to meet technology, content and service offer for online training, and professional operators supply, at any levels.It will last two and a half days and will include exposition and commercial activities with study moments. Its innovative way to promote the meeting between research world and users of online training, makes Expo E-learning a unique event in Italy.
Its topics, Bank & Enterprise, Public Authority, Health, School & Professional Training and University, will be grouped in 5 areas and will allow an intersectorial comparison. These seven players will be faced in 5 parallel sessions, from Thursday afternoon to Saturday morning, with several talks of experts.
On Saturday morning, inside the section "University & Long life education", Davide Corio, co-founder of Redomino Srl, will hold a speech called "Survey on E-learning platforms". This survey was done in collaboration with Mrs. Danae Vassallo, a degree in Modern Letters at the Turin University, in order to clarify the differences between Open Source and proprietary software in the e-learning field.
After an introduction on what teaching via web is, what figures appear and what its present limits and potentials are, the speaker will show a comparative analysis among the main existing e-learning platforms, in order to think and realize a more complete platform, which can collect any positive features forming a single collector.
The software will be Open Source to make the community part of its evolution.
Expo e-learning, thanks to the variety and the completeness of its topics, is addressed to a wide and mixed audience: professionals, managers, teachers and technicians of private and public schools, Universities, Professional Training Bodies and Institutes, Personal, Training and Communication managers, but even students and workers looking for new ways of studying, learning, training and refreshing.
