Flavio Fabiani from Toshiba Europe speaks about Redomino solution

Fabiani gave information especially on the project of the migration of Toshiba Europe Extranet towards an Open Source platform.

The interviewed explains in brief problems concerning the present platform used inside the company, disclosing the requirements grown through the years: the realization of a common portal where the present and future applications can interface without binding the company to a single technology.

Fabiani said to Java Open Business editorial staff that, after an accurate analysis, Toshiba Europe considered Plone as the best software on the paper even compared to proprietary correspondents.

The project that Toshiba consultant is talking about was thought and introduced by Redomino S.r.l.

Fabiani speaks of the profits come from the use of an Open Source platform, emerging from the analysis of Redomino proposal.

The interview ends mentioning Free Software strong points and hoping that in the future there will be a development concerning compatibility with proprietary products.
