Plone Conference 2005: a real success

Plone Conference 2005, the greatest conference on Plone, was organized by Austrian Blue Dynamics, and it was very successful, arousing the audience liking and the coordinator satisfaction.

The event took place in the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, where an international audience joined together, as usually: about 220 guests, including developers and mere visitors.

Plone Conference hosted, during its three days, 54 talks, where Plone features were explained and deepened with demonstrations and case studies.

Alexander Limi, one of Plone founders, introduced Plone with a speech, where he explained version 2.1 features, as for example:

• LiveSearch, which shows authomatically results as you enter search terms;
• the new support of cut/copy/paste which works during the object view;
• the authomatic creation of tabs on the site;
• the faster generation of pages, assured by the several implementations;
• widescreen mood, which allows the removal of lateral columns;
• authomatic addition of the site map;
• check window to avoid loss of data with the defection of a unfilled form;
• possibility to select different views for contents;
• new e-mail implementation;
