What is Plone?

Redomino's Plone 3 Customization training is an intensive course for site managers, integrators, designers and developers who want to customize Plone for their projects.

Plone is a Content Management System, a tool enabling the user to add, edit, update and manage web application contents easily and quickly, even for users who have limited technical skills.

Plone enables automatic and intuitive creation of web content: with little effort  the content of your web site will be well organized and presented clearly in your web site. Additionally, Plone automatically generates navigation elements, makes contents searchable and indexable and keeps track of users, their permissions and security settings.

Plone is a free and Open Source technology, distributed under GPL  licence, which allows the user to use and modify all of its components without cost; moreover, it places great emphasis on usability and accessibility, complying with the US Section 508 and W3c guidelines.

• Objectives

  At the end of the training the participants will know all the main features of Plone that allows developers to customize pages and forms, they will know how to make deep changes to the site by installing and configuring new products and how to manage medium to high complexity projects.

  The main support will be Martin Aspeli's book, "Professional Plone Development", PACKT Publishing. During the course a projector will be used, in order to allow all the participants to follow every step of the training. Other training materials will be distributed at the start of the course.

• Target audience

  Redomino's Plone 3 Customization training is ideal for web page builders and developers who already have experience with Plone general configuration and want to improve their knowledges in customization techniques.

• Prerequisites

  Basic knowledge of web-oriented programming language (client-server http, html/css, ...) and possibly of the Zope technology (architecture, zpt, scripting, ...).
